What is a CT KUB Scan?

A CT KUB Scan (Computed Tomography of the Kidneys, Ureters, and Bladder) is a non-invasive diagnostic test that captures high-resolution, cross-sectional images of the urinary system. It is commonly used to detect kidney stones, urinary tract infections (UTIs), blockages, tumors, and other abnormalities in the kidneys and bladder.

Patients with symptoms like lower back pain, blood in urine (hematuria), or difficulty urinating may be advised to undergo a CT KUB scan. The procedure is quick—typically taking only 10–15 minutes—and may include contrast dye for enhanced imaging
